In 2024, we expanded into sustainable tourism by operating a restaurant and training space that provides hospitality skills for our students. In 2025, we extended our free English class model to a second site in Siem Reap, Cambodia. By 2026, after several years of growth and development, MITTAPHAP has evolved into a broader project that includes ecotourism, sustainable development activities, and social-enterprise initiatives, while continuing to offer free education and community programs.
Our free classes and community missions are funded through our own social-business activities: contributions from participants (volunteers), tour packages, our restaurant, and other services under the MITTAPHAP project. This hybrid model allows us to stay independent while reinvesting income directly into education and local development.
We believe that education is the foundation of equality—and we strive to make that belief a reality through hands-on learning, community engagement, and international collaboration.
At the heart of our initiative is a community-led approach to sustainability. With an organic farm, a learning center, and a volunteer hub, we connect education with practical action to create a brighter future for Nathong Village and beyond.
Our daily English lessons, skill-building workshops, and cultural exchanges empower learners while showcasing eco-friendly technologies and sustainable practices.
Education. Environment. Employment.
Our Sustainable Development Projects (SDPs) are driven by this mission:
Education: Free English classes, digital literacy, and skills training for all ages
Environment: Organic farming, eco-building, and sustainable living practices
Employment: Fair-wage opportunities and job training for local youth
We aim to be a recognized leader in sustainable development in Laos and Cambodia. Our goal is to build a thriving, self-sufficient community where waste becomes resource, learning is lifelong, and sustainability is the norm—not the exception.
We are proud recipients of the 2015 Energy Globe National Award for Lao PDR, recognizing our work in renewable energy and resource conservation.
We’re expanding adult education, launching new community business projects, and enhancing our eco-systems on-site. Upcoming initiatives include:
Producing and selling natural local products.
Creating efficient water and waste systems.
Forming new partnerships to fund and sustain our growth.
Support SAE LAO and help build a brighter future in rural Laos. You can volunteer to teach, farm, or support community projects—or donate to keep our programs running. Every bit of help makes a real difference.
